Abstract:
Splenic artery pseudoaneurysms (SAPs) are potentially life-threatening vascular lesions with a high risk of rupture that may be associated with inflammatory vascular pathologies. While transcatheter embolization is the most common endovascular treatment for SAPs, covered stent placement preserves arterial patency and splenic perfusion but is limited by anatomic constraints, such as inadequate landing zones and excessive vessel tortuosity. This case report discusses the clinical and technical considerations in successfully stenting a SAP in a patient with a history of systemic lupus erythematosus with type III cryoglobulinemia, biopsy-proven leukocytoclastic vasculitis, and necrotizing pancreatitis.
