Abstract:
This case report describes the management of alveolar ridge preservation for site No. 4 utilizing a biologically driven approach involving a scaffold hydrated with growth factor-enhanced matrices, which enabled the predictable reconstruction of a significant palatal defect in a site bounded by existing dental implants. A 60-year-old patient was treated in a private practice setting using standard of care procedures following a staged approach: atraumatic extraction with alveolar ridge preservation using a resorbable xenograft-alloplastic biomaterial and a recombinant human platelet-derived growth factor, followed by two-staged dental implant placement. A unique challenge in this case was the presence of existing implant-supported restorations at sites Nos. 3 and 5, which necessitated a high degree of precision to preserve the neighboring peri-implant health. The article highlights the efficacy of combined regenerative therapy in restoring a complex palatal architecture and achieving dental implant stability.
