Abstract:
Both ARPA-H and the FDA recently launched programs to help accelerate clinical trials. ARPA-H announced the SURPASS program, which is intended to create faster clinical trials that are more cost-effective and have fewer participants than current studies. It is seeking ideas from cross-disciplinary teams in statistics, artificial intelligence, and clinical trial design, operations, and regulation. The FDA has created a pilot program for accelerating phase I clinical trials that pairs drug sponsors with research organizations.
