Abstract:
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is limited by poor tissue penetration, oxygen dependence, and prolonged photosensitivity. A self-immolative near-infrared (NIR) nanoplatform that repurposes a commercial photoinitiator through upconversion-mediated NIR excitation was developed to overcome tumor hypoxia and minimize post-treatment phototoxicity.
