Abstract:
Cheek plumper prostheses have been used to restore facial fullness in completely edentulous individuals with sunken cheeks. Conventional methods of fabricating detachable cheek plumper prostheses often rely on prefabricated attachments or manual laboratory procedures, which may increase prosthesis bulk and limit reproducibility. This dental technique describes a combined conventional-digital workflow for fabricating complete dentures with detachable 3-dimensionally (3D) printed cheek plumper prostheses using integrated attachment components. A silicone ring-retained matrix and an antirotational feature were incorporated to improve retention and stability. This approach facilitates controlled prosthesis design and the predictable fabrication of detachable components.
