Abstract:
This work provides a database of kinematic, and biosignal data collected from young adults (YA) and older adults (OA) while performing wrist movements guided by an upper-limb (UL) robotic exoskeleton. The database includes data from 20 participants (10 YA and 10 OA), with equal numbers of women and men. Inclusion criteria contemplated healthy participants with no neuromusculoskeletal, cardiovascular, pulmonary, or neurological disease. In this work, kinematic data refer to the angular position and velocity collected during wrist flexion, wrist extension, wrist radial deviation, and wrist cubital deviation movements, whereas biosignals refer to the superficial electromyography signals collected from four specific zones on the participants' UL. The experimental protocol includes two graphical user interfaces: one to guide users in executing movements and collecting kinematic data, and a second to collect biosignals. The protocol includes synchronizing both systems. Finally, the database was used in an example of movement classification between both groups of adults.
