Abstract:
Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) in adolescents may be triggered by physiological stress or caffeine. We report a 16-year-old girl who complained of palpitations, dyspnea, and regular tachycardia (170 beats/min) after tea intake. ECG showed SVT and intravenous adenosine restored sinus rhythm. Recognizing dietary stimulants as potential precipitants of SVT is important.
