Abstract:
Excellent oral health is a fundamental need for all adolescents as they gain health independence and autonomy. Pediatricians already perform an essential and vital function by incorporating an oral health history, physical examination, and anticipatory guidance into adolescent well visits. This technical report provides support for this work, as highlighted in the clinical report, with an overview on adolescent oral health including growth and development, medical issues, and treatments for adolescents with complex medical needs.
