Abstract:
Lipid droplet proteins can move from the endoplasmic reticulum to droplets through persistent membrane connections. A new single-molecule study reveals that accumulation is not only about access: protein sequence features tune residence on the droplet surface, revealing how confined mobility can lead to accumulation on the organelle (Mizrak et al.).
