Abstract:
In this study, we report the successful extraction of DNA from landfill leachates using the cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) technique and its validation for high-throughput sequencing of bacteria and fungi. This protocol provides a simple and efficient method to obtain high-quality DNA from complex samples such as leachates and represents a valuable tool for molecular studies and diversity profiling of microorganisms in sanitary landfills.
