Abstract:
Sodium hydrosulfide (NaSH), as an inexpensive, weakly toxic, odorless, and atom-economical inorganic sulfur source, shows great potential for application in the synthesis of sulfur-containing compounds. Herein, we report a practical method for the preparation of sulfur ester compounds, using sodium hydrosulfide as the sulfur source and visible-light-induced catalysis of thianthrenium salts. The reaction proceeds through visible-light-driven EDA (electron donor-acceptor) complexation, with sodium hydrosulfide serving as the sulfur source and no transition metals involved. This method is characterized by mild reaction conditions, excellent functional group compatibility, and simple operation, thus providing a novel approach for the green and efficient synthesis of sulfur ester compounds.
