Abstract:
The Mount Makiling Forest Reserve harbors diverse microorganisms with potential biotechnological applications, yet bacterial taxonomic profiling across its watersheds remains limited. Amplicon metagenome sequencing targeting the 16S rRNA gene revealed Proteobacteria and Acidobacteriota as dominant phyla, with Actinobacteriota, Verrucomicrobiota, Chloroflexi, Myxococcota, Methylomirabilota, Bacteroidota, Nitrospirota, and Planctomycetota present at varying abundances.
