Abstract:
Terpyridine-containing polysiloxanes (tpy-PMHS and tpy-PDMS) were synthesized via hydrosilylation and used as macromolecular ligands for coordination with copper(I) and copper(II) precursors. As a result, a series of novel polymer-metal complexes (Cu-tpy-PMHS and Cu-tpy-PDMS) with diverse architectures (cross-linked and end-functionalized polymers) and different copper oxidation states were obtained. These polymer-metal complexes were comprehensively characterized by solid-state NMR, UV-vis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. The redox activity of the cross-linked Cu-tpy-PMHS-2 sample was investigated using cyclic voltammetry. Cu-tpy-PDMS-1 exhibited catalytic activity in mechanochemical azide-alkyne cycloaddition, affording the target product in 80% yield.
