Abstract:
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is essential for examining ocular pathologies, but conventional protocols are prone to motion artifacts caused by eye movements. Here, we present a protocol for integrating eye tracking (ET) with MRI to achieve high-resolution, motion-robust imaging of the eye. We describe acquisition, reconstruction, and post-processing steps combining ET and MRI data. This approach improves structural detail, enhances image quality, and strengthens MRI's diagnostic value in ophthalmology while paving the way for replacing hardware-based ET with machine learning solutions. For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Franceschiello et al.1.
