Abstract:
Cystic Fibrosis-associated Hepatobiliary involvement (CFHBI) refers to a wide range of liver and biliary-related clinical and/or biochemical abnormalities that impact people with cystic fibrosis. Advanced cystic fibrosis liver disease (aCFLD) describes individuals with advanced fibrosis or cirrhosis and/or portal hypertension. The current review discusses both CFHBI and aCFLD in terms of pathogenesis; clinical, imaging and biochemical manifestations; screening, monitoring, and management recommendations; and the impact of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulator therapy.
