Abstract:
The article "Omission of a Bladder Flap during Cesarean Birth in Primiparous Women" [Gynecol Obstet Invest. 2018;83(6):564-568; https://doi.org/10.1159/000481283] by Berna Aslan Cetin, Begum Aydogan Mathyk, Sibel Barut, Yelda Zindar, Kerem Doga Seckin, and Pinar Kadirogullari has been retracted by the Publisher and the Editors. After publication of this article, concerns were raised about the statistics reported in Table 1 and an Expression of Concern was published while the investigation was ongoing [1].The authors state that they identified errors in the reported values for BMI, gestational age at birth, birth weight, total operating time, incision to delivery time, blood loss, preoperative hemoglobin, postoperative hemoglobin, postoperative urinary retention, postoperative residual urine volume, and first urination time after catheter removal. The Editor determined that the errors alter the conclusions of the article, and therefore, the article is being retracted.Begum Mathyk, on behalf of all authors, disagreed with the retraction statement.
