Abstract:
Electroanalysis is a powerful tool that underpins a wide range of industrial and academic applications, from pH meters to ion-selective electrodes to glucose meters. It is characterised by rapid measurements, adaptability, miniaturised components and sensitive and specific analysis. However, limited awareness of its capabilities and uncertainty about equipment selection restrict its wider use. This Technical Brief introduces electroanalysis, provides criteria for selecting instrumentation and outlines basic troubleshooting.
