Abstract:
A pediatric healthcare system located near a 2025 measles regional outbreak shares processes for developing electronic medical records-based measles screening at registration to promptly identify patients at high risk of measles and prevent secondary exposures. Buy-in was gained from stakeholders concerned about slowed registration and limited numbers of airborne isolation rooms by reporting registration times and fine-tuning screening to reduce screening positivity iteratively to rates as low as 0.12 per 1000 encounters.
