Abstract:
Serving as an emerging subclass of crystalline porous frameworks, chiral hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (CHOFs) integrate permanent porosity, structural flexibility, chirality, and beyond. CHOFs have achieved broad application interest in fields of enantioselective recognition, asymmetric catalysis, circularly polarized luminescence, photothermal conversion, and biomedicine. In this review, we first summarize the construction strategies of CHOFs including direct assembly, post-modification, and indirect induction, together with showcasing representative prototypes. We then discuss the application performances of CHOFs across separation, catalysis, optics, photothermal conversion, and biomedicine, highlighting comparative advantages over other types of crystalline porous frameworks like metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent-organic frameworks (COFs). The existing challenges and future outlooks of this emerging field are also proposed. This review provides a systematic framework connecting CHOF assembly strategies to their applications and identifies concrete directions for future development.

Reduction of Alkenes: Asymmetric Catalytic Hydrogenation
The metal catalyst used can be either heterogeneous or homogeneous. When hydrogenation of an alkene generates a chiral center, a pair of enantiomeric products is expected to form. However, an enantiomeric excess of one of the products can be facilitated using an enantioselective reaction or an...

Conformations of Ethane and Propane
Staggered conformation is a low energy and more stable conformation with the C-H bonds on the front carbon placed at 60°dihedral angles relative to the C-H bonds on the back carbon, leading to a reduced torsional strain. In staggered ethane, the...
