    Summary

    In canine hearts with transmural infarcts, the endocardium showed significant alterations, including endothelial cell shedding and leukocyte invasion, indicating an inflammatory response. These changes were consistently observed in infarcted areas, highlighting the endocardial manifestation of myocardial injury.
