    Background:

    • Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is associated with Burkitt's tumor and infectious mononucleosis.
    • Complement-fixing antibodies are key indicators of immune response to viral infections.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate complement-fixing antibody levels against EBV in different patient groups.
    • To correlate antibody titers with Burkitt's tumor and infectious mononucleosis history.

    Main Methods:

    • Studied complement-fixing antibodies using an antigen from EBV-infected Burkitt tumor cells (EB3 line).
    • Compared antibody titers across patients with Burkitt's tumor, other African diagnoses, and healthy individuals.
