Summary

Aerobic bacteria can degrade various synthetic detergents. Forty-five bacterial strains demonstrated the ability to break down tallow-alkyl-sulfate, alkyl-ethoxylate-sulfate, and linear-alkyl-benzene-sulfonate surfactants.
