Two years later, Pohl and Hawk performed experiments on how cells respond differently to a nonuniform electric field based on the cell type.     Summary

    Human eosinophils contain a unique phospholipase D enzyme that inactivates platelet-activating factor (PAF). This enzyme may regulate immediate hypersensitivity reactions by breaking down PAF.
