    Summary

    Serum thymic factor (FTS) decreases with age and thymectomy. Old thymuses can restore FTS levels in young mice, but young thymuses are less effective in old mice, suggesting environmental factors also impact FTS levels.

    Background:

    • Serum levels of circulating thymic factor (FTS) decrease in mice following adult thymectomy and with advancing age.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the factors contributing to the age-related decline of circulating thymic factor (FTS) in mice.
