    Summary

    The probe 3,3'-dihexyl-2,2'-oxacarbocyanine (CC(6)) measures cell membrane potential in Drosophila mitochondria. This study confirms previous findings, suggesting mitochondrial membrane potential is not crucial for oxidative phosphorylation.
