Myositas ossificans progressiva associated with severe scoliosis
Abstract:
This is an 11 year follow-up of a patient with myositis ossificans progressiva and severe scoliosis, an association that seems not to have been reported previously. A progressive increase of the curve occurred even after maturity. Early instrumentation and fusion should be considered on any similar case, with excision of ossific mass and its use as bone graft if technically feasible.
