    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To describe the incidence and characteristics of ulcerative posthitis in bulls in Uruguay.
    • To investigate potential etiological agents and risk factors associated with the condition.

    Main Methods:

    • Examination of 1096 bulls across 17 establishments in Uruguay.
    • Assessment of pasture type (improved vs. natural) and age as potential risk factors.
    • Histopathological analysis of preputial lesions and isolation of Corynebacterium renale.

    • High incidence rates observed, particularly in bulls on improved pastures and those aged 18-36 months.
    • Histological findings included acanthosis, parakeratosis, hyperkeratosis, leukocytic invasion, and ulceration.
