    Summary

    A novel nuclear antigen, leukemia-associated nuclear antigen (LANA), was identified in acute myeloid leukemia. This antigen shows distinct reactivity compared to Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen (EBNA).

    Background:

    • Nuclear antigens play crucial roles in cell biology and disease pathogenesis.
    • Distinguishing specific antigens in hematological malignancies is vital for diagnosis and understanding disease mechanisms.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To identify and characterize a novel nuclear antigen in acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
    • To investigate the prevalence and specificity of this antigen in various hematological malignancies and control groups.

    • Anti-complement immunofluorescence was employed to detect nuclear antigens.
    • Sera from patients with various leukemias, lymphomas, and other conditions were tested for reactivity.
