    Summary

    High anti-DNA antibody levels are common in systemic lupus erythematosus (S.L.E.) patients. Most patients meeting S.L.E. criteria had elevated antibodies, but some with S.L.E. features did not meet classification criteria.

    Background:

    • Systemic lupus erythematosus (S.L.E.) is a complex autoimmune disease.
    • Anti-DNA antibodies are a key biomarker in S.L.E. diagnosis and monitoring.
    • Accurate classification criteria are crucial for patient management.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the prevalence of elevated anti-DNA antibodies in patients with S.L.E.
    • To assess the concordance between anti-DNA antibody levels and proposed S.L.E. classification criteria.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective analysis of 38 patients diagnosed with S.L.E. over two years.
    • Measurement of anti-DNA antibody levels in all patients.
    • Application of recently proposed S.L.E. classification criteria.
