    Summary

    Neonatal 6-hydroxydopa (6-OHDOPA) treatment reduced muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in adult rat hearts. This led to acetylcholine hyposensitivity but did not affect the maximal negative inotropic response.

    Background:

    • To investigate the long-term effects of neonatal 6-hydroxydopa (6-OHDOPA) administration on cardiac muscarinic receptors and acetylcholine (ACh) responses in adult rats.
