    Summary

Colonoscopic appendectomy was successfully performed in two patients with inverted appendices. This minimally invasive approach offers a viable alternative for appendix removal in select cases.

    Area of Science:

    • Gastroenterology and Surgical Innovation

    Background:

    • Appendiceal inversion is a rare surgical complication.
    • Previous abdominal surgery can lead to anatomical variations like appendiceal inversion.

    Observation:

    • Two patients presented with appendices inverted into the cecum.
    • This inversion was an incidental finding from prior abdominal surgeries.

    Findings:

    • Colonoscopic appendectomy was successfully performed in both patients.
    • The procedure demonstrated the feasibility of minimally invasive appendix removal despite inversion.

    Implications:

    • Colonoscopic appendectomy may be a suitable alternative for managing inverted appendices.
    • Highlights the importance of recognizing anatomical variations during endoscopic procedures.
