Abstract:
Accumulation of clavicular fractures among newborns on the authors' ward is reported, with reference to 1978. Twenty clavicular fractures were recorded from 1.6 per cent of all newborns, in the above period under review. They were related to cephalic presentations and to the upper shoulder in 90 percent. They were closely correlated to high birth weight. Positioning of the women concerned and medical supervision of delivery seemed to be of causative importance.
