    The foveal reflex brightness can differ between amblyopic and normal eyes, but not always. Equal reflex brightness does not rule out amblyopia or indicate its severity.

    Background:

    • Amblyopia, or 'lazy eye', is a common cause of reduced vision in children.
    • The foveal reflex is an important clinical sign observed during ophthalmoscopy.
    • Assessing the foveal reflex is a standard part of the ophthalmological examination.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the relative brightness of the foveal reflex in amblyopic eyes compared to their fellow eyes.
    • To determine if differences in foveal reflex appearance correlate with the presence or severity of amblyopia.

    Main Methods:

    • Comparative analysis of foveal reflex appearance.
    • Ophthalmoscopic examination of patients with amblyopia.
    • Subjective assessment of reflex brightness and characteristics.

    Main Results:

    • Variations in foveal reflex brightness were observed between amblyopic and fellow eyes in some patients.
