    Summary

    Two hydrochlorothiazide brands, Dichlotride and Esidrex, showed different peak plasma levels in healthy volunteers. However, overall bioavailability and urinary recovery of hydrochlorothiazide were comparable between the two medications.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To compare the pharmacokinetic profiles of two hydrochlorothiazide brands, Dichlotride and Esidrex.
    • To assess the bioavailability and urinary excretion of hydrochlorothiazide from different formulations.
    • To determine if significant differences exist in the absorption and elimination of hydrochlorothiazide between Dichlotride and Esidrex.

    • The observed variations in maximal plasma levels do not appear to translate into significant differences in therapeutic efficacy.
    • Both hydrochlorothiazide brands are likely to provide similar therapeutic outcomes based on bioavailability and excretion data.
