    Summary

    This study analyzed electrooculography (EOG) in normal human eyes, finding significant differences between subjects but minimal variation between right and left eyes. EOG measurements showed consistent day-to-day variability comparable to electroretinography (ERG).

    Background:

    • The electrooculogram (EOG) measures the standing potential of the eye.
    • Understanding EOG variability is crucial for its clinical application in diagnosing retinal diseases.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To assess the intra- and inter-eye variability of EOG parameters in normal human subjects.
    • To compare the day-to-day variability of EOG with existing electroretinography (ERG) data.

    • Three electrooculograms (EOGs) were recorded weekly from 16 normal human eyes (8 subjects).
    • Parameters analyzed included light-induced potential rise, Arden ratio, and Gliem ratio.
