Background:

Primary duodenal cancer is rare.
Secondary involvement of the duodenum can mimic primary tumors.

Observation:

Fourteen patients presented with diagnostic confusion due to duodenal tumors.
Tumors were located in the second or third portions of the duodenum.

Findings:

Surgical excision or palliative bypass offered a median survival of nine months.
Longer survival periods were observed in some cases.

Implications:

Diagnostic confusion between primary and secondary duodenal tumors is significant.
Imaging like barium enemas and excretory urograms are crucial for identifying contiguous colon and kidney cancers.

Prompt diagnosis and appropriate management can lead to improved palliation and survival for patients with secondary duodenal malignancies.
