    Summary

    The Hancock porcine xenograft shows resistance to infection and early bacteremia in patients. This tissue valve is durable and easier to sterilize than rigid prostheses, even with prosthetic valve endocarditis.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the incidence of infection and valve-related complications in patients receiving Hancock porcine xenografts.
    • To assess the xenograft's resistance to early postoperative bacteremia and late prosthetic valve endocarditis (PVE).
    • To compare the performance of porcine xenografts with rigid prostheses in the context of infection and durability.

    • Retrospective analysis of 373 patients who received porcine xenografts.
