The contracture's etiology was potentially linked to birth brachial plexus injury or idiopathic fibrosis.

Successful treatment was achieved through proximal recession of the deltoid muscle's inserting fibers.
This surgical approach addressed the diffuse fibrosis, unlike prior methods targeting localized lesions.
