    Summary

As cattle age, teat veins increase in number and thickness, but these vascular changes do not affect milkability. This study examines bovine teat vascular development and its relation to milking efficiency.

    Area of Science:

    • Veterinary Anatomy
    • Bovine Physiology

    Context:

    • Understanding the vascular anatomy of bovine teats is crucial for assessing udder health and function.
    • Age-related changes in blood vessel morphology can influence tissue characteristics and physiological processes.

    Purpose:

    • To describe the age-related development and behavior of arteries and veins in cattle teats.
    • To investigate potential correlations between teat vascular changes and milkability in cattle.

    Summary:

    • Vascular development in cattle teats shows an increase in vein संख्या and thickening of the median vein region with age.
    • No significant correlation was found between these vascular modifications and the milkability of the teats.

    Impact:

    • Provides baseline anatomical data on bovine teat vasculature for future research.
    • Informs understanding of udder development and potential factors influencing milking performance in cattle.
