    Summary

    Neuroleptic medication may reduce P-type atypical lymphocytes in schizophrenia patients. These P cells, a distinct lymphocyte type, were present in all patients studied, but at lower levels in those on medication.

    Background:

    • Atypical lymphocytes, specifically P-type atypical lymphocytes, are observed in schizophrenia.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the effect of neuroleptic medication on the prevalence of P-type atypical lymphocytes in schizophrenia patients.
