[Morphological, histochemical and biochemical changes induced by homochlorcyclizine in the rat]

Young Wistar rats have been treated with homochlorcyclizine and the morphological, histochemical, biochemical changes studied. Lungs contained few macrophages overloaded with phospholipids but the main variations occurred in liver. Histochemical reactions showed draught-board patterns due to selective phospholipid or glycolipid storage within a part of the lobule. The phospholipidosis induced by the drug presented an increase in phosphatidyl choline and acid phospholipids and some lysosomal enzymatic activities were increased also.
