    Area of Science:

    • Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
    • Surgical Techniques
    • Wound Healing

    Background:

    • Cross-leg fasciocutaneous flaps are a reconstructive option for lower extremity defects.
    • Assessing the efficacy and safety of this flap technique is crucial for clinical practice.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the outcomes of cross-leg fasciocutaneous flaps in a series of patients.
    • To determine the success rate and complication profile of these flaps.

    Main Methods:

    • A retrospective case series of twelve patients undergoing cross-leg fasciocutaneous flap reconstruction.
    • Assessment of flap survival, recipient site cover, and donor site morbidity.

    Main Results:

    • Eleven out of twelve (91.7%) fasciocutaneous flaps healed successfully without loss.
    • Satisfactory coverage of the recipient area was achieved in all successful flaps.
    • No significant complications were reported at the donor sites.

    Conclusions:

    • Cross-leg fasciocutaneous flaps are a reliable and effective method for reconstruction.
    • The technique offers good outcomes with low morbidity, making it a valuable surgical option.
