    Background:

    • Two cases of pellagra with toxic parenchymal liver defect are presented.
    • Both cases developed after the abuse of a combined anodynic medicament.

    • The condition was likely caused by 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-methylpyrazolon (Morazon).
    • Two similar cases from existing literature were also attributed to Morazon intake.

    Implications:

    • This highlights a potential adverse effect of Morazon abuse.
    • Further research into the pharmacological effects of Morazon is warranted.
    • Clinicians should be aware of this potential complication when prescribing or monitoring patients using Morazon.
