Abstract:
Satiation is a sequence of physiological processes involving a variety of signals and loci which ultimately converge on the brain to bring about satiety and the termination of a meal. Signs of satiety have been inferred from their temporal relation to meal termination. Measurement of satiety involves quantifying amount of food consumed and correlating it with physiological and cognitive changes, such that increases or decreases in these measures (either singly or in combination) reach some as yet undefined threshold level when eating stops.
