Case report of phenothiazine-induced torsade de pointes

Abstract:
A patient with schizophrenia developed torsade de pointes, a life-threatening cardiac arrhythmia, due to administration of phenothiazines. An intravenous infusion of isoproterenol improved the symptoms. The etiology and treatment of the syndrome are discussed.
