The mechanism of neuroleptic withdrawal

The authors present a case report of a woman who developed marked withdrawal symptoms on withdrawal from Pericyazine. The authors feel that this case adds support to the hypothesis that such withdrawal symptoms are due to cholinergic rebound hypersensitivity.
