    Background:

    • To investigate and compare the phagocytic potential of leukemic cells across different subtypes of acute leukemia.
    • To determine if phagocytic activity can serve as a distinguishing feature among acute leukemia classifications.

    Main Methods:

    • Leukemic cell samples from various acute leukemia types were analyzed.
    • Cytochemical stains (Sudan black B, esterases, acid phosphatase, PAS) were used for cell classification.
    • Phagocytosis was assessed by incubating leukemic cells with Candida albicans.
