    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate vibratory perception threshold (VPT) in patients with generalized scleroderma.
    • To determine if VPT changes correlate with the severity of sclerotic skin involvement.
    • To explore the underlying mechanisms of altered vibratory perception in scleroderma.

    • Vibratory perception threshold (VPT) was measured on eight distinct skin test sites.
    • 13 patients with generalized scleroderma (acrosclerosis type) and no clinical peripheral neuropathy were included.
