[Diurnal rhythms in the functional and mitotic activity of normal and regenerating thyroid gland]

The diurnal rhythms of proliferative and functional activity of intact and resected thyroid gland have been elucidated. The highest concentration of thyroid hormones and PB normally falls on the interval between 1 and 9 o'clock. After resection the general time course of the activity parameters remains unchanged with the exception of the hormonal level that is below control. In reparative processes related to physiological renewal and reparative regeneration, the proliferative activity was noted to depend on the thyroid cell population belonging.
