    Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) membrane antigens (MA) share significant similarities across different cell lines, but also exhibit some distinct antigenic differences. This study compared EBV MA specificities using absorption and immunofluorescence techniques.

    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To compare the antigenic specificities of the membrane antigen (MA) complex from three Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-producing cell lines.
    • To identify shared and divergent antigenic features within the EBV MA complex.

    • Complete absorption of anti-MA antiserum with P3HR-1 cells.
    • Testing residual antibody activity against B95-8 and QIMR-WIL cells using indirect membrane immunofluorescence.
